Important Measuring Points
- Most carpets are available in widths of 4m and 5m, there are some ranges that offer multi widths,
you must always consider a +/- 1% tolerance on all widths.
- Measure the widest points of the room.
- Allow for doorways, alcoves, bay windows & recesses.
- We recommend to add 10cm to all measurements.
- You may be able to use off cuts on stairs or other areas.
- It is advised that the pile on all carpet is connecting rooms runs in the same direction to
maintain texture & colour consistency.
- Lay carpet in a single piece where possible.
- Avoid seams/joins in heavy wear area’s.
- It is advised you purchase all the carpet you need for connecting rooms at the same time due to
batch colour differences.
- Carpet in different widths & carpet pile weight can vary in colour.
- The pile of landing carpet should run in the same direction as the stairs. Make sure you measure to
include the whole riser.
